Dropship Products Online

If you sell products through a web site or in an online auction, you may be familiar with dropshippers. If you are looking for a way to make money online without storing inventory or finding wholesale suppliers, you may want to consider becoming an agent.

An online agent puts products up for auction or sale and deals with the clients as an interface between the actual wholesaler of the products and the client. When the product is sold, you will arrange the shipment through the dropshipper. Drop ship of products means that the dropshipper will ship directly to the person who bought the item or the bulk wholesale lot and thereby cut out the middle man. You will not have to store, label or box products. All you have to do is sell the item to the client.  

Now that you understand the dropshipper concept you should also know that often the wholesaler and the dropshipper are one in the same. You act as the sales agent and they do everything else.

To find products to sell online you may want to start with your interests. You are more likely to get inspired and passionate about selling a poster, CD, book or other product if you like the products yourself. Of course, it is not necessary for you to choose your wholesale products or drop ship products by interest.  

You can also look online at the auction sites and review web sites to determine what is popular and what you think will sell. The more popular the item is and the better price you are able to offer through the wholesaler, the more successful your online business will be.  

Remember that if you are selling products, you will still need a sales tax certificate. Even if you never physically touch the product, you are still selling it. You are acting as an agent to sell a product to a client and therefore you are subject to sales tax in your state.
